竹新社消息：香港行政长官林郑月娥以“坚定前行、燃点希望”为题发表任内第二份《施政报告》，报告涵盖良好管治、房屋与土地、多元经济、培育人才、改善民生、宜居城市及与青年同行多个领域。她表示香港会坚守一国原则，对任何鼓吹港独、危害国家主权和安全、以及发展利益的行为，绝不容忍。林郑月娥说，特区政府有宪制责任为23条立法。此外，为保障特别是儿童及青少年的健康，香港将全面禁止电子烟。在施政报告发表前，部分民主派议员离席，以示抗议。

竹新社消息：中华民国107年国庆大典于10日上午举行，今年国庆活动以“2018 台湾共好”为主题，台湾地区领导人蔡英文发表国庆谈话。谈话指出，中国大陆正在挑战包括区域稳定现状在内的各项国际秩序，企图单方面改变台海现状，蔡英文呼吁北京当局履行负责任大国的义务，在区域和全球扮演良性角色，而非冲突的来源。台湾不会贸然升高对抗，也不会屈从退让，因应之道，就是“求稳、应变、进步”。捍卫中华民国台湾永续发展，维持台海和平跟区域稳定，是全体台湾人民最大公约数。
